  The Story of Our Logo  

Finally, thinking of a path or navigation or movement makes one think of direction. Since we want to see our customers grow and thrive, the movement or direction should be upward and positive.

We are highly skilled with words and numbers, but for symbols we needed more. Working with a talented designer, we found a way to translate our words to meaningful pictures. Thus, our primary logo features a footprint centered on a compass rose. The direction the foot is taking is upward and to the right, just like any good chart of success. Our secondary logo shows the forward movement of footprints, the picture of bare feet bringing in some fun since we enjoy what we do.

What's in a name? Or in a logo? Our name and our logo are intended to reflect who we are and what we do.

First, the name. The growth of a company is not linear. Rather, it is a series of steps. A business is formed, gets going, and functions well at a certain level. Then, success forces a reevaluation of how the job is getting done and how it can continue under the strain of growth and additional volume. At some point in time, one must make some changes and then make the step upward to a new level of function. Many times it may seem more of a leap than a step. Change can be very positive, but isn't always easy. We help our clients find ways, "solutions", to help them take that "next step". Although not trendy or fancy, Next Step Solutions says what we do.

Next, the logo. We wanted our logo to relate to our company name and reflect how we do what we do. Described in words, we think of terms such as guide, direct, navigate. Thinking of "steps", one could visualize a stairway upward, a road leading somewhere, or footprints on a sandy beach.
